In 2010 Congress designated the week beginning with the second Sunday in September as National Arts in Education Week. The goal was for parents, students, teachers, artists and administrators to join together and educate the community about the importance of arts in education.
This year, Youth in Arts brings this effort to Marin County by kicking off a social media campaign for Arts in Education Week 2017—September 10-16.
We invite YOU to tell your story of the impact and transformative power of the arts in education. Download or share the prepared social media posters here or create your own posts to promote the impact of the arts. Tag posts #BecauseOfArtsEd #Marin #ArtsEdWeek. Is your art program part of Youth in Arts? Add @youthinarts.

Youth in Arts also encourages school to use this week to identify “art teams” comprised of students, parents, teachers, and administrators who care about the arts and can can join together to rally for arts programs, arts fundraising, curriculum development, and arts advocacy. Share your team leader’s contact information with us so we can keep you informed of the latest research and advocacy throughout the year.
To start, here’s a basic downloadable PDF presentation about the power of arts. Feel free to use this in presentations to parents, school leaders or board.
Happy NATIONAL ARTS IN EDUCATION WEEK
