Marin Center and Youth In Arts staff will assist with
any emergency that takes place during a performance.
Please feel free to call on them for help.
Power Failure
Emergency generator will activate emergency lighting
throughout facility. Ushers, with flashlights, will
assist in evacuation of hall. Students should be advised
to walk, not run, to exit doors.
Life-Threatening Situation
(Choking and Heart Failure)
Usher will advise facility office immediately; County
communications center will be contacted and Fire Department
paramedics will arrive in 2 to 10 minutes.
Fire
Exits in theatres are well marked; theatres are equipped
with stage fire curtain, smoke vents, sprinkler and
alarm systems.
(Facility office will be contacted
immediately to call Fire Department.)
Ushers will stay at positions and advise exiting students
to walk, not run, through exit doors, and of course,
route students away from fire.
Earthquake
After quake stops, students will be asked to walk, not
run, through exit doors being routed away from collapsed
stairwells and falling debris.
Students should move to flat, open area away from building.
Routine First Aid
Advise office and Marin Center staff will make first
aid kit available.
