Residency: Literacy Through Music

Artist: Hannah Dworkin

Type: Early Childhood, Residencies, Students with Special Needs

Description

Students develop core literacy and musicianship skills through engaging music and movement activities. Each session will develop students’ phonemic awareness and fluency, as well as their understanding of rhythm, pitch and harmony. Movement is used to reinforce vocabulary that students are learning through song and explore the relationship between musical rhythms and syllable patterns. *This residency can be adapted for special education and alternative education programs, as part of Arts Unite Us.
