Residency: Media Literacy

Artist: Stevie Greenwell

Type: Residencies

Description

During this residency in media literacy, students learn how images communicate and become creators of their own visual stories. In the first part of the residency, students learn to de-code the visual media present in their daily lives in films, videos, magazines and on the internet and develop a vocabulary for visual communication. Empowered with these new tools, students then create their own visual stories on the theme of personal and cultural identity using a sequencing of found-images from the Internet. Equipment preferred: Computer lab with Internet access, laptop projector.
