Residency – Story Dancing

Artist: Risa Dye

Type: Early Childhood, Residencies

This class uses active storytelling by incorporating elements of creative movement, creative dance, and physical theater. Using folktales and children's literature, we gain a deeper understanding of the many parts of a story- characters, setting and plots. Educator Risa Lenore guides the class as storyteller and gracefully invites them to become the many story elements. The stories are chosen and told with awareness of justice, social-emotional growth and developmentally appropriate content.
